Vocational Training, Mentorship & Employment Opportunities for Refugee Women in Charlotte, North Carolina

Refugee women in the Charlotte metro area face many hurdles to productive employment, including childcare needs & transportation issues. But one of the biggest hurdles is lack of vocational training opportunities geared towards the unique needs of these women. Make Welcome Refugee Women’s Center is a holistic program designed to equip refugee women with the needed tools to find sustainable work opportunities and build social capital in Charlotte, NC.

We do this work through:

  • Providing welcoming community through art events, cultural exchanges and friendship building 
  • Enabling to thrive in the United States through vocational training, job skills building and English tutoring 
  • Giving hope for the future through mental health support and practical care in navigating American culture
