Volunteer With Us

Want to volunteer?

Our volunteers are the backbone – or in sewing terms, the wonder clips – of our program. They help teach and assist in our sewing classes. Volunteers may also assist in the childcare program at Project 658, which is available to our students during sewing class.

Whether you are a veteran seamstress or a beginning sewist, we have a place for you. If you are new to sewing, you can learn along the way!

But even if you don’t sew, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. We’re also looking for volunteers to join us for conversational English practice, to gather household goods to donate to newly arrived refugee families, and to come alongside a refugee woman for sewing and/or English mentorship.

The biggest requirement for our volunteers is the willingness to show the love of Christ by being willing to reach across cultural and language barriers with love and encouragement to help our students learn.

Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 10-12. Fill out our volunteer application below, then we’ll be in touch with next steps, including an on-site visit and required training.
