Make Welcome Made Sewing Manufacturing

Make Welcome Made is a made-in-the-US cut-and-sew production studio specializing in fashion, home goods, patch application, and bags. We only do small batch production, with a very small minimum required. We are not equipped to do large manufacturing runs.

We’ve worked with multiple Charlotte small businesses to help take their product from dream to reality. We offer like-minded socially and environmentally conscious brands the opportunity to make us a part of their story. Your company not only adds the value of local US-made manufacturing to their brand, but also simultaneously help support refugees through safe, dignified employment. We provide sample sewing, design, and limited sourcing help. Our manufacturing practices ensure a well-made product through our production team.

ABOUT US

  • Our minimum order amounts are 12 items per fabric style, and for fashion sewing, at least 5 per size.
  • We have three industrial machines and 2 sergers.
  • We employ refugee women in an on-the-job training environment! This means that our production time might be a bit slower – but it’s also providing excellent opportunity for these women to eventually move on to full-time sewing jobs.
  • We’ve created bags from billboards, children’s clothing, tote bags and escape rooms! We’ve also sewn patches on hats, hoodies and more. Contact us to see pictures of finished products.

PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS

  • We must have all fabrics, notions & patterns before the sewing work will commence.
  • We require a 50% down payment on the work before production will start.
  • When you have a new pattern for us to sew, we will charge a sample fee. We cannot provide a price per item for the whole order until we have created the sample. The sample fee depends on the complexity of the project, but it is a $45 minimum.
  • Your production timeline is based on when you get the materials to us. Smaller orders usually take 4-6 weeks. Larger orders may take up to 8 weeks or more. Once we’ve created a sample for your item, we’ll give you a timeline. It’s our job to complete it based on that timeline so we will seek to make it as accurate as possible.
