Not Just a Fundraising Goal

We hoped to raise funds to cover the cost of sewing machines for the students in our class. The fundraising goal was set slightly high in order to bring in the minimum that we needed. But thanks to you, we raised $200 more than what I thought was an ambitious amount to begin with!

We've already had three students receive sponsored sewing machines and another one is getting hers within the week. As I've talked to the ladies and learned more about why they wanted their own machine, I've realized that the Babylocks we're delivering are about much more than simply sewing a napkin or two. These machines represent new opportunities, new goals, new potential.

Your generosity made this gift possible. And thanks to the extra funds, you're sponsoring not just our current class but also the students soon to join us.

On behalf of all the students at Make Welcome, thank you for showing God's love.

Want to be a part of community development? Now is your chance!

Announcing the start of our sewing machine sponsorship drive! When we shared about the need for the students to each own their own machine, many of you were excited and asked how you could help. Well, now it's we've finally launched it.

If you want to become a sponsor, head over to our fundraising page at rally.org/makewelcome

Your gift of $5, $10, $25 will cover so much more than sewing machines. It will also provide rotary cutters, cutting mats, scissors, irons, and other items our students will need for their own sewing studios. Thank you in advance for your gift to these precious women who have left much behind in their journey to America. You are providing an investment of hope. If you've got any questions about our work or this fundraising effort, please feel free to shoot me an email at julia (at ) make welcome (dot) org.
